The Shoe stores everything on your device. We don't run a backend, we don't have your account, and we don't track you across the internet.
What we collect
Nothing leaves your phone. Your training history, preferences, theme choice, table choice, and bankroll state are saved in your device's local storage. If you use Track, the sessions you log there — where you played, the table, your buy-in and cash-out, hours, and any notes you write — are stored the same way, on the device only. That is the most personal information the app holds, and it is the information we are most explicit about never transmitting: there is no server to transmit it to. We have no analytics SDKs, no advertising trackers, no fingerprinting libraries.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, email, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers. We don't ask for permissions beyond what the operating system already grants the app for normal local use.
Third-party services
Fonts are bundled with The Shoe and loaded from the app on your device. The app does not fetch them from Google Fonts at runtime.
Subscriptions and the App Store
The Shoe Pro is sold via Apple's In-App Purchase system. When you subscribe, Apple processes the transaction and stores the receipt on your device. The Shoe validates that receipt locally on-device against Apple's StoreKit — the receipt is never sent to a server we control, and we don't run a backend that could log it. The app reads the validated subscription status to know whether to unlock Pro features. We never receive your name, email, payment method, or Apple ID. Apple's Privacy Policy governs how Apple handles your purchase data: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Data retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device until you delete it. Settings → Reset clears your training history and the local Pro entitlement flag. It deliberately does NOT clear your Track sessions: a training reset should not erase your record of real money. Delete those individually in Track, with the Delete control on each session. Uninstalling the app removes everything. Cancelling your subscription happens through Apple — Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. The Shoe cannot cancel an Apple subscription on your behalf.
Children
The Shoe is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including minors, since we don't collect data at all.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add backend features (cross-device sync or leaderboards), we'll update this policy and notify users in-app before any data leaves the device. We will never sell your training data.
