What The Shoe is

The Shoe is a blackjack training and simulation app. It teaches basic strategy, lets you drill weak spots, and simulates table sessions with table-specific rules. The Shoe does not accept wagers, does not pay out winnings, and does not facilitate any form of real-money gambling.

Strategies are guidance, not guarantees

The plays The Shoe teaches are mathematically optimal over a large number of hands at a given rule set. They do not guarantee any outcome on a specific hand or session. Casino games are designed for the house to win over time. Use The Shoe to make informed decisions; don't use it as a basis for any expectation of profit.

Rule accuracy

The Shoe clearly marks tables whose rules have not been verified on the floor. We make a reasonable effort to keep verified-table data current, but casinos change rules without notice. Always confirm a table's rules with the dealer before sitting down.

Acceptable use

Don't use The Shoe to facilitate cheating, count-team coordination, advantage play schemes that violate venue rules, or any unlawful activity. The Shoe is a personal practice tool.

Age requirement

You must be 18 or older to use The Shoe. By continuing to use the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

The Shoe Pro subscription

The Shoe Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Two tiers: The Shoe Pro Monthly at $7.99/month and The Shoe Pro Annual at $39.99/year (US prices; local prices set by Apple may vary). Both tiers unlock the same set of Pro features. Eligible new subscribers may receive a free trial before the first charge — 3 days on the monthly plan and 7 days on the annual plan; the trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends.

Auto-renewal and billing

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID payment method within 24 hours before the period ends, at the then-current price for the same tier. Apple — not The Shoe — processes the charge and stores the receipt on your device.

Manage, cancel, and restore

Manage or cancel your subscription on your device under Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or directly from the App Store. The Shoe cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf. If you reinstall the app or switch to a new device, use the Restore Purchases button in The Shoe → Settings to re-activate Pro on the same Apple ID.

Refunds

Refund requests go through Apple's standard App Store refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com — we cannot issue refunds directly. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; previously paid amounts are not refunded for unused time. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription in the same group.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Shoe is provided as-is. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that strategy advice is appropriate for your specific situation, or that any rule data is current. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of The Shoe are not liable for any losses, including gambling losses, arising from your use of the app. The Shoe is a training tool, not financial advice.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be surfaced in-app.
